There is a lot of money to be saved by taking the time to learn some tips and tricks for getting the best Las Vegas car rental for your money. Follow these simple car rental savings tricks and you will have more money to spend on your Las Vegas vacation.

Check with your credit card company to find out if it has free or discounted rates for the Loss/Damage Waiver coverage when you use that credit card for rental payment.

Make sure you have a valid driver’s licence for driving around Las Vegas.

If preferable, ask for a car rental that has a trunk rather than a hatchback. The last thing you need is thieves being able to see all your personal belongings.

Call your existing car insurance company to find out what coverage you have under that policy when renting a car in Vegas. This way you will be able to decline some insurance coverage that Las Vegas car rental companies offer you and save on your hiring cost.

Always check a rental car when you first get into it. Point out any existing damage to the car before you pull out of the car space.

Make sure you are familiar with how that car operates. Locate things like the gas tank, wipers, lights, horn, direction signals, gear shift and make sure they are easy to operate and not faulty. Also make sure the car manual is in the car.

Make sure you have a good map and detailed directions.

Make sure you ask the car rental company the following 7 questions:

1. Are there any discounts available?

2. Do they charge an airport shuttle fee for customers who arrive by shuttle?

3. Do they give unlimited mileage and what are the conditions?

4. What are the booking requirements for the lowest rates?

5. Is there a surcharge for additional drivers?

6. Is there a limit to how far you can travel in the car?

7. Are there any drop off charges?

Las Vegas car rental charges can fluctuate as often as Las Vegas hotel room rates. They are usually their lowest two weeks before Christmas and at their highest throughout January.

If your visit coincides with a convention you may not be able to get a rental car at all.

If you are planning a Las Vegas vacation during a quieter time of year you may benefit by using trying out these various Las Vegas car rental techniques:

Book your car weeks in advance. From 2 weeks before your arrival phone a selection of Las Vegas car rental companies to see if they can offer you a better deal. If they can, cancel your original reservation and book at the new lower rate.

Don’t book a car rental until you get to Las Vegas. You may find that you don’t need a car very much at any rate because you will be spending most of your time on the Strip. You may end up only wanting a car for one or two days. If so, have a look at Las Vegas magazines, newspapers and coupon books for the best Las Vegas car rental discounts. Phone around for availability when you have found the best deals.

Check the in-flight magazines for Las Vegas car rental coupons. You can usually get information about coupons by calling toll-free numbers of airlines. Reserve a car rental for the first 24 hours only. Make sure you can pick up the car at the Las Vegas airport and that you can drop it off at one of the locations on the Strip without paying any additional charges.

While in Las Vegas, look at all the coupon offers for Las Vegas car rental and reserve a car for the last 24 hours in Las Vegas. Make sure you can pick up the car on the Strip and return it to the airport without penalty.

A Las Vegas vacation would not be complete without the 24/7 food, drink, and gambling. In fact the choice of Las Vegas as a vacation destination would surely revolve around those attractions for most of her visitors.

We tend to think of the thrillseeking rides and roller coasters as offering the bumps, dips, twists, and turns that you will find, but probably the huge array of eating choices in Las Vegas gives the visitor many of those thrills too, with the added advantage of being able to KEEP your breakfast rather than give it back!

Las Vegas has some of the best dining on the planet. Many of the wonderful dining experiences are associated with the casinos of the area, but the casinos themselves would not be as successful if their restaurant tables were not kept full. Diners don’t tend to dine if the food isn’t good, and the old saying about bad news traveling twice as fast means that a bad restaurant review will travel around the world twice before ten good reviews can even be written. This means that the world-class fine dining restaurants really must earn their reputations in order to bring in the business.

I personally tend to look for the dining bargains, and a visit to my website can explain why, so that is what I will focus on here. There are a huge selection of great places to eat in Vegas that will not have your credit card screaming to be left alone!

Being from New Zealand, we tend to be more steak and potato kind of folks, so we always try to look for a good steak bargain. For those that prefer to steer away from meat, pardon the pun, you can also get a wide variety of other menu choices at most steak houses. This is good wholesome food at its best and at a price that most can afford.

Not all great bargains involve steaks and there are many great food bargains to have. One of the best things to check out are the coupons you may find around town offering two for one food purchases or dollars off entree purchases. It may not sound like much, but imagine if you could save $2 per two people for 10 meals during your stay, that adds up pretty quickly. You are probably looking at a little slot machine time, or by checking out other great coupon deals, you could even score tickets to one of the many great Las Vegas shows.

Just because some eating places are cheap, that does not mean a lack of quality. Remember what I said earlier, a lot of the success of many establishments rides on their ability to keep their tables full. Cheaper food establishments are no exception, they still have the same goal.

In many industries, but hospitality in particular, you can only make your money in two ways. Either you charge like a wounded bull, and rely on your reputation to fill your cash register, or you rely on sheer demand through offering low cost and quality. Most of the cheaper eating venues in Las Vegas fit this profile extremely well.

While they may not be as sophisticated as some offerings, you might find that a lot of the cheaper places to eat actually have far superior flavor to many of the more expensive dining experiences. If you look at it this way, taking advantage of cheaper alternatives will probably allow you to splurge on one of the Top Guys with the money you have saved!

I know you either love them or hate them, but I personally love the buffets! Where else can you take a family, with all their different food likes, and come away with everyone happy? And of course they are one of the cheapest options for eating in Las Vegas. Sure, there are the good buffets and the bad buffets, but I have found on the whole we have been more than happy, and so has the credit card!

No matter what your preference, the possibilities are endless and your Las Vegas dining experiences will add some fantastic snippets to your collection of Las Vegas vacation memories.

I have visited Las Vegas quite a few times over the last several years, and one of the most asked questions I received is whether people should stay on the Strip or Downtown. After I tell them they will enjoy their vacation in Las Vegas no matter where they stay, I tell them the differences between Downtown and the Strip.

Downtown (Old School Vegas)

Downtown is for the budget minded and the serious gambler who do not like all the glitz, glamour, of the strip. All of the casinos downtown are close together and you can easily walk to all of them. Table games like blackjack, roulette, craps, and others also have lower bet minimums than the Strip. Slot machines, and video poker are everywhere and you can always find nickel machines. Free cocktails are always available when you gambling downtown.

The rooms downtown are comfortable, clean, and less expensive than their Strip counterparts. The Golden Nugget is the most opulent casino downtown. Outside of the Downtown casinos step outside at night and look up and see a light show called the Freemont Street experience, which connects most of the casinos. If you like a laid back, block party atmosphere then downtown may be the place for you. If you do want to see the casinos, or catch a show on the strip it’s only a cab ride away.

The Strip

Las Vegas Boulevard is the actual street name of the Las Vegas Strip and it is one of the most famous streets in the world. If you drive down the strip starting at the airport the first casino you will see is Mandalay Bay and thirty casinos or so, later you will see the Stratosphere, which has a roller coaster on top. The Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, and Mandalay Bay set the standard for luxury in Las Vegas.

If you are a sightseer then you might prefer to stay on the strip, there are hotels for every budget and you will be close to all the new casinos, which are an attraction themselves. The table limits on the Strip can be higher, but you can look around and find lower limits, especially during the week. Of course the cocktails service is always free for gamblers.

Off Strip Properties

We should not forget the off strip properties that range from the budget minded to luxury, and specialty hotel casinos. You can have luxury at places like Green Valley Ranch, which was also the subject of a television show. The Rio Suites are also off strip and where the world series of poker is played. Another favorite is Sam’s Town, which offers a large RV park and comfortable rooms at very good prices, you can even go bowling at their fifty six alley bowling lane.

In summary whether you prefer the mega resort casinos on the strip or the smaller budget minded casinos of downtown you should have a great time. Always check the web for Las Vegas vacation packages. Good deals are always available in Las Vegas, so enjoy your vacation.

Cheap Discount Vegas Vacations, are there such a thing? When people think of Vegas they think of spending money and gambling. The thing is that you don’t need to spend a fortune planning a Las Vegas vacation.

Here are a few best kept travel secrets for finding the best room rates and cheap hotels in Vegas.

Plan your Las Vegas trip during the week rather than weekends. Decide how long you want to stay in Vegas for. Many hotels offer lower room rates the longer you stay. Many of the downtown casinos and hotels are cheaper than accommodation on the Strip. Look into hotels that are not on Las Vegas Boulevard. They have bargain room rates.

If you are staying for a week then ask what the weekly room rate is. Plan your Vegas trip well ahead to get the best rates. Most Vegas hotels have an incredible 90 percent occupancy rate. An incredible 63 percent of Las Vegas visitors book at least two weeks in advance. Look out for hotels offering a free night if you stay for three or more nights in Vegas. Book your hotel on an airline website.

Download Travel Axe where you can search around 20 websites to help you find the cheapest Vegas deals.

TIP: If you call the hotel with your Travel Axe deal they will usually try and beat their offer. Check to see if your planned trip coincides with any major conventions or popular events, etc, on at the same time. If a convention is on at the same time it could be impossible to find a room. Some conventions have attendees of more than 50,000. Here are some conventions and popular events to look out for:

January – Consumer Electronics Show
February – Men’s Apparel Guild in California (MAGIC)
March – NASCAR
April – National Association of Broadcasters, World Series Poker, Clark County Fair and Rodeo, Fremont Street Mardi Gras, City of Light Jazz Festival
May – Networld + Interop (high-tech), EA Sports Supercross, Cinco de Mayo, Summer Jam, Stars, Cars & Guitars Motorhead Festival, Jazz in the Park
June – Jazz Festival, International Truck Show
July – Fourth of July Fireworks
August – MAGIC, Newport Pacific Jazz Festival
November – Softbank Comdex (software and high-tech)
December – National Finals Rodeo

It’s a good idea to contact the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (3150 Paradise Rd., Las Vegas, NV 89109, PHONE: 702/892-0711, FAX: 702/892-2824) to find out who or what will be in town at the time you’re planning to visit.

It is possible to plan a cheap, discount Las Vegas vacation that will cost you next to nothing. Everything from cheap hotels, cheap airfares, cheap car rental. By spending a little time improving your knowledge about your Vegas vacation destination you can end up saving hundreds on your trip – and having more money to burn.

What are you waiting for? Sin City is calling you!

May weather in Las Vegas sees a steady rise in temperature from the beginning of the month to the end. If you are planning to visit Las Vegas in May you should get to enjoy some really terrific weather unless you are very unlucky in a city that was built on luck.

The average daily high temperature in Las Vegas in the first week of May is slightly above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The low temperature is normally right around 60. Typically in Las Vegas the record highs are about 20 degrees above the normal high, so a 100-degree day is possible. The record low is a little above 40, so you could encounter nighttime weather that will require a jacket, so you will want to look at the weather forecast before you pack for your Las Vegas vacation in early May.

The daily high temperature in Las Vegas in the middle of the month of May is normally around 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and the low is little above 60 for a normal Las Vegas evening. The record highs can reach 105, and the record lows are still in the low 40s. The warmer Las Vegas weather in the middle of May will probably make sunning by the pool more satisfying for most people. The low humidity in Las Vegas will keep all but a record hot day feeling cooler than you may believe if you haven’t visited the desert Southwest before.

By the end of May the average daily high temperature in Las Vegas is in the mid 90s, and the low is in the mid 60s. Again, it will feel cooler than that to most people, and you can still golf and participate in other outdoor activities during the entire day unless you encounter an unusually hot day. The low temperature is now nearly 70 on a normal day, making May mornings in Las Vegas extremely enjoyable.

The Memorial Day Weekend in Las Vegas may be the most pleasant 3-day holiday of the year, from a weather standpoint, in this tourist city. The evenings are warm enough that jackets won’t be needed, and shorts and short-sleeved shirts can be worn all day and night. If you are planning on swimming you will find the weather to be perfect in the end of May, not too hot but very warm. If you want to golf you will need to use sunscreen and bring water, but you probably won’t get overheated, although you may want to consider an earlier tee time just in case the weather is a little warmer than normal.

May is also one of the drier months in this dry desert city. If it happens to rain while you are visiting Las Vegas in May it will almost certainly be a short, light rain. The stormy time of year in Las Vegas, if you can even call it that, is July and August, thunderstorms in Las Vegas are very rare in May. The worst weather that you could see would be an unusually hot day, or perhaps a windy day, but overall Las Vegas weather in May is usually ideal.

The Excalibur Hotel & Casino opened in 1990 with 4,008 rooms and was one of the original themed resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. The medieval theme can not be denied with the white castle jetting up into the sky surround by the two room towers on either side, Camelot roaming the resort and a live medieval dinner show. And don’t let the fact that Excalibur is nearly 20 years old concern you, the resort has recently undergone an extensive renovation.

Conveniently located at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, you will find yourself next door to the Luxor, and across the street from New York-New York Hotel & Casino, the Tropicana and MGM Grand. And visiting Mandalay Bay or the Luxor couldn’t be any easier. You can either take the monorail that connects the three hotels or you can beat the heat and walk from one hotel to the other without ever stepping outdoors.

Room rates are certainly a value at Excalibur. Depending on what time of year you visit Las Vegas and what events are taking place in the city you can get rooms for as little as $70 per night. You will pay at least three times that amount at some of the newer resorts on the Strip. In addition, a number of their rooms have been refurbished to include pillow top mattresses and widescreen televisions. Of course, these rooms will have a slighter higher nightly rate than the standard rooms, but they can still be considered a good value.

Although most resorts in Las Vegas no longer cater to families, as most resorts did back in the early 1990′s, Excalibur still welcomes vacationing families. The entire family will enjoy the Tournament of Kings dinner Show. Jousting, fireworks, horses, dancing and singing, what more could one ask for? Maybe eating dinner with your fingers? Other attractions include the newly-renovated pool area and the Fantasy Faire midway where you and the kids can test your skills at arcade and carnival style games.

The casino isn’t for the kids but it does cover over 100,000 square feet. The Excalibur casino floor features hundreds of the latest slot machines with denominations from $.01 to $100, for those of you who like to think of yourself as high rollers. You can also spend time wagering on your favorite sports teams or the horse races in the full-service Race and Sports Book. And if poker is your game you won’t be disappointed by the Poker Room.

In the dining category, Excalibur offers something for every taste. Try the RoundTable Buffet or the 24-hour Sherwood Forest Cafe. A recent addition is Dick’s Las Resort, very casual and very fun, the menu includes Macho Nachos, Ride’m Cowboy Rib Eye and a Case O’ King Crabs. For a dining experience that is more high-end you can tempt yourself at Sir Galahad’s, a pub and prime-rib house, or The Steakhouse at Camelot.

Coming to Las Vegas to get married? How about getting married as the king and queen of Camelot? The Canterbury Wedding Chapel has period costumes based on the Renaissance period. If you prefer something a little more on the traditional side you should explore the many wedding packages that are available.

The best values at Excalibur start with the room rates. But those values also extend to all the other amenities the resort offers. And the best part? Being located on the south Strip allows you to step out from under the castle and explore the five other resorts that are literally located next door. Plan your Las Vegas vacation at Excalibur and live like a king or a queen for a few days!

A Las Vegas vacation for many familys is an experience to enjoy for everyone with all of the food, drink, gambling, and kid-friendly games. In fact, one of the biggest reasons that people visit Las Vegas is for the delectible Las Vegas restaurants. You do not have to be wealthy to experience many of the exquisite Las Vegas restaurants – you just have to know where to go!

Las Vegas has so much more than gambling to offer its thousands of visitors. The days when gambling was the only income stream for casinos is gone, the casinos have had to develop a multitude of income avenues to remain successful. The Las Vegas of old is nothing like the Las Vegas of today. Las Vegas has been changing year-to-year to cater to all walks of life and become the ultimate travel destination for everyone! Look at the Las Vegas sky line right now and you will be hard pressed to find any of the old Las Vegas casinos.

Las Vegas is quickly becoming a city that offers five star world-class food to its residents and tourists. Las Vegas has some of the best dining anywhere on the planet. Many of the best dining experiences are located within the Las Vegas strip casinos, but they would not be as successful as they are if there was not a reason to keep the tables full. Obviously, diners don’t tend to dine if the food isn’t any good, and for a first-class Las Vegas restaurant, one bad review will travel around the world faster than ten good reviews. This means that all of the world-class Las Vegas restaurants really must work hard to earn their badges of honor in order to bring in the customers to stay in business.

However, not all of the Las Vegas restaurants will cost you an arm and a leg. I personally tend to look for the dining bargains and that is what this particular article focuses on. There are many great places to eat in Las Vegas that will not have you busting open your wallet. Now my wife is a steak loving woman so I always try to look for good steak bargains around town. She loves the Sahara’s Caravan Cafe. Here you can get a complete prime rib dinner with a baked potato and your choice of soup or salad for only $8.99 (4:30pm to 7pm). They even offer a large T-bone steak dinner for just $13.99. This is truly one of the many unknown Las Vegas restaurant gems that is known for providing good food at a price that easy on your wallet.

This is just one of the many Las Vegas restaurants that a family can get an affordable, and great tasting meal in a Las Vegas strip casino. Not all great bargains involve steaks though, as there are a lot of high quality, inexpensive Las Vegas restaurants to be found. Many Las Vegas casinos offer valuable coupon books, provided that you ask for them at the front desk. Please note that you will want to be cautious of these coupons because many of them have fine print. So make sure to read the coupons fine print before you try to use it! Oftentimes, they will have some type of restriction that could cost you in the long run. However, using coupons effectively can and will save you money that you can then use for whatever you desire! Go ahead and put some of that money you saved on dinner and put it on the tables – you just might get lucky!

Eating cheap in Las Vegas by no means indicates a lack of quality. While it may not be as pricey as some of the five star Las Vegas restaurant offerings, you will find that a lot of the cheaper places to eat will taste just as good as many of the more high-class Las Vegas restaurants, and it’s just nice to get away from buffet food lines once in a while during your Las Vegas stay. You can only endure so many buffets before they all begin looking and tasting alike.

2.	Stratosphere Hotel and Casino
The Stratosphere contains many Las Vegas roller coasters, including the x-scream, insanity ride and the big shot. The big shot goes up 160 feet giving you a 1,081-foot view of the Las Vegas strip below and it goes up to 45 mph. If you are not into the roller coaster excitement take a look at the Stratosphere pool. These Las Vegas pools have an amazing view of the strip. Located on the 18th floor of the Stratosphere it has 68,000 square foot area, with 15,000 of that just for the pool. It is an outdoor heated pool with a separate European sunbathing pool. Bar and café at the pool with pool toys, rafts and cabana’s available, this oasis is sure to be a hit.

3.	Circus Circus Hotel and Casino
This Las Vegas roller coasters site has the world’s larges indoor, double loop double corkscrew roller coaster along with many other things for the family. Log rides, bumper cars, laser tag and a special FX theater to name a few. As far as Las Vegas pools go this one may not be the most adult friendly, but Circus Circus has three pools outdoors, one open all year round, heated to 80 degrees. They range in depth from 3-6 feet and are great for kids. Inter tubes and cabanas are available.

4.	Sahara Hotel and Casino
The next of our Las Vegas roller coaster located on this site is call “Las Vegas’ best attraction” by Vegas.com. This roller coaster called, speed the ride, can go from 0-45 mph in just 2 sec and then again from 35-70 in just 2 sec. The coaster goes, as high as 224 feet and the track over all is 1,365 feet long. The ride produces massive force on the body but only lasts for 45 seconds. Considering the Las Vegas heat, there’s no doubt that swimming pools are a big part of the tourist attractions. The pool at the Sahara is five thousand square feet, is located outdoors, has fountains and cabanas available for rent. This pool site has a refreshment stand and a beautiful backdrop for relaxing.

Remember when looking for Las Vegas roller coasters or Las Vegas pools to check on life guards for the children in the pools and seasonal scheduling if either is located outdoors. There are so many different options for the family Las Vegas vacation.
