A boulevard in Makati, the Ayala Avenue is one of the busiest streets in Metro Manila. And because of the presence of major commercial and business offices as well, Ayala Avenue is competently named the Wall Street of the Philippines. This boulevard that traverses Epifanio delos Santos Avenue up to Metropolitan Avenue has a length of 1.9 kilometers or about 1.2 miles. Major topographic points found in this boulevard include Senator Gil Puyat Avenue in Barangays Bel Air, San Lorenzo and San Antonio. It has the Salcedo Street found in Barangay San Lorenzo and BelAir as well. V.A. Rufino Street and Paseo de Roxas is one of its major junction in Barangays BelAir and San Lorenzo while Makati Avenue for Barangays San Lorenzo, Urdaneta and BelAir.

A portion of the boulevard from Paseo de Roxas to Makati Avenue use to be a platform of the Nielson Airport which is the first airport in Luzon. A long story enveloped the extension of this boulevard from Paseo de Roxas to Buendia to Kamagong Street to the tip portion of South Avenue at Metropolitan Avenue.

The Landmarks That Made Ayala Avenue A Stand Out

Several landmarks made this boulevard a stand out. It has the Ayala Center which is one of the largest and well-known malls in the country and made up of eight defined shopping hubs that were rooted from Ayala Avenue. It has the Glorietta complex in particular. In this avenue you can find the Greenbelt mall and the 6750 building and the ever famous Shangri-La Makati Hotel.

Ayala Triangle which is a sub-district of the central business center of the city is found here. This consists of land portions between Ayala, Makati Avenues and Paseo de Roxas and the other marked establishments found on these streets. Skyscrapers made the triangle extremely famous.

The famous skyscraper, the PBCom Tower which is said to be the tallest building in the Philippines. This is the head office for two prominent banks in the country, the Philippine Bank of Communications and the East West Bank.

The avenue is fortunate enough to possess one of the trading floors of the Philippine Stock Exchange on its ground. It is situated on the avenue’s Ayala Tower One with the old building of its very own Makati Stock Exchange. The statue of the renowned assassinated senator and well-loved by Filipinos, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., is situated at the very corner of Ayala Avenue and Paseo de Roxas.

What to See In Ayala

Ayala Avenue is known to be a home for a lot of landmark buildings, most of which are the famous and the biggest names in the whole Philippine business sector. Some of them are Allied Bank Center that serves as a head office of Allied Bank, the Ayala Tower One, a home for Ayala Corporation and to the Philippine Stock Exchange. It also has the Bank of the Philippine Islands headquarters, Convergys Philippines Services Center, G.T. International Tower that serves as a latest headquarters for Metrobank and the Insular Life Building. On its ground, you can also locate the very popular, The Peninsula Manila Hotel, the People Support Center, the PLDT Tower, the headquarters of the Rizal Commerce Banking Corporation – RCBC Plaza, Smart Tower as the headquarters of the Smart Communications, the SSS Makati Building which is astonishingly a headquarters of Union Bank of the Philippines.

It is also here you can find the Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Company or the SGV Building which is a member firm of Ernst & Young Global and the Rufino Plaza a headquarters of the Rufino Family. All these were enough reasons why Ayala Avenue in Makati is a major celebrity in the Philippines.

Ayala As the Shopping and Night Life District in Makati

Centrally located are thefamous shopping centers in the Philippines. Cafes, restaurants and bars are located along the avenue where the elite and famous usually drop by for a shopping spree or to chill out at night. The Ayala Avenue glitters with light during the night as the different skyscrapers, commercial buildings, and night bars and restaurants come to life as dusk begins.

In the misty past, Britain's towering and crumbled castles have been a source of inspiration to poets and writers. Today, the spirit of Oxford Street and the West End theatre shows offer celebrity. All that Britain has to offer can be experienced once again in Bath – Britain’s favourite Spa town. Now join the real beauty of Britain’s history and merge it with something else entirely.

Shopping? No. Nor a visit to a mysterious castle, but Bath - Britain's favourite Spa town presents a more personal and relaxing experience that stimulates all of the senses today. Take the time to truly visit Bath and all its splendour with a real pampering spa experience.

From the 17th century, numerous multitudes of people ventured to a quaint little town in England called Bath to enjoy its therapeutic hot mineral springs. Bath remains high up on any tourist's list of must-see places in Britain. Bath shimmers in the sunlight, it's Georgian splendour rising majestically from the healing waters below.

Bath's mineral rich water was a great attraction in the 17th and 18th centuries, during which the great and the good flocked from all over Europe to experience it first hand. In time, the nurturing waters could be employed for the purpose of nonexclusive baths. As the hot springs drew more fame, more remote and personal healing pools contributed.

In 1978 fears for the public's health finally forced the hot springs of Britain's favourite spa town to close it's doors, seemingly for good. However, the history was so compelling visitors still travel to the area 100s of years later.

Bath is now open again for business. 2006 finally brough the means to reopen Bath's doors with brand new bathhouses as well as restoration of a few of the former bathhouses from the 18th century. The fluid springs stream byway of the Hetling, Cross, and King springs cumulatively. Put together, they supply close to 1 million liters of water daily at a temperature of 45 degree Celsius.

The architecture of the Roman Bath is a far cry from the newly built Spa just down the road. The fluid springs flow through the Hetling, Cross, and King springs. The newly reopened Spas mean that Bath's mineral rich water can once again be enjoyed by everybody.

Returning from the South Pole in 1912, Captain Robert Falcon Scott suffered a horrible death. His friends also perished due to starvation and hypothermia. Because of his ambition and persistence, and even though he lost the race to the South Pole and perished, he is known as a national hero. Read this site if you want antarctica cruise review information.

In our modern times we now fully understand the extreme conditions that exist in the Antarctica wilderness. In Antarctica’s winter, temperatures can fall to 90 degrees Celcius below zero, with average wind speeds of 67 kilometers per hour. Captain Scott was undoubtedly in the middle of these brutal settings without understanding or experience of how to handle Antarctica’s real hazards.

Scott’s letters to his wife convey the extreme isolation that he and other scientists working in the Polar Regions often experienced. Even these days scientists will feel loneliness and isolation regardless of the technology available to them to communicate. When Scott was taken by the wilderness he left his wife and young son behind.

A few months after his expiration, Scott’s body was found with several letters to his wife. Scott died 11 miles away from his supply post. Word of Scott’s death was sent to his widow in New Zealand, where she had been anxiously awaiting his return. You will gain a deeper understanding about exciting antarctica cruises by checking out that resource.

The letters that Scott left behind for his wife, can shed much light for historians of Antarctica. When he first began his expedition, Scott told his wife in his letter how great he felt physically and how much he enjoyed a hot meal. He was not bothered so much by the frigid climate, saying that his cooked foods made up the difference.

Scott’s position began to change as the trip dragged on and food supplies began to run low. He wrote of the unrelenting cold in the Antarctica wilderness. We can get a better understanding of the starvation that Scott and his team experienced, as we find that they were surviving during their trek on a single hot meal and had an additional 11 miles to travel and only two days worth of cold food remaining.

Although Scott was a pioneer in the field of exploration, he had bad luck twice over with this trek. He was unable to reach the south pole first, Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen beating him to the glory. Amundsmen arrived on December 21, 1911, beating out Scott, who arrived on January 18, 1912, by nearly one month.

Scott became a national hero due to his incursion to Antarctica from 1902-1904. Nearing the end of the 1912 expedition, along with Lt. Henry Bowers and Dr. Edward Wilson, he fought for survival until the very end. Petty Officer Edgar Evans and Captain Lawrence Oats did not win their fight to survive.

With just twenty miles until the next depot, the expedition stowed their provisions. Now, they had hardly any meals or fuel left. Scott described in his letters, the bitter cold of the seventy degrees below zero temperatures, and how the only inadequate defense they had was their tent. He also gave his blessing for her to remarry in the event of his death.

In his parting letters he expressed that he did not regret the expedition that ultimately ended his life. He even mentioned that he preferred it to relaxing at home. The young people of Britain have been greatly encouraged by the strength and perseverance that Scott displayed.

Roald Amundsmen beat Scott’s team to the South Pole by a few weeks. He is said to have died on March 29, 1912. In 1913, Scott’s heroic expedition was immoralized through the publication of his journals entitled, “Scott’s Last Expedition.”

Parents know how challenging it can be to travel with children. And it’s not that easy to plan a kid friendly vacation, because fabulous vacations are usually designed for couples or honeymooners. So far, in the United States, it seems like there is no better choice than a Disney resort in central Florida. Local attractions will be absolutely thrilling for children of all ages. They can have lunch with Cinderella and ride with their cartoon characters in the theme park.

vacations kid friendly

The Bahamas have good offers in terms of kid friendly vacation packages. Water parks are the thrill of children, and activities like diving, snorkeling, guided expeditions, sailing and aquarium visits are incredibly appealing. Destinations like Atlantis Resort will guarantee not only a kid friendly vacation, but great fun for the rest of the family too. Grown ups will be lured by casinos, shopping centers and great clubs. Add up the sunny golden beaches and the incredible atmosphere and you have the recipe for the best holiday ever.

kid friendly vacations

If your family prefers snowy mountain slopes, you can organize a kid friendly vacation in the Rocky Mountains. There are so many things you can do during the winter months, regardless of whether you remain to spend the holidays in the US or you travel abroad. Ski and snowboard schools are the strong point of any kid friendly vacation, plus you can also pay for child care services in the case of children under twelve years of age. Educational activities can also be organized on the spot, depending on the children’s age and the location.

kid friendly vacation

Forget about prejudices that keep you from having fun; it’s a great joy in being a mom and a dad. Remember that anyone can plan a wonderful vacation, but not anyone really has it; therefore, cherish every moment as much as you can. If the kids have great fun during the day, it is the adults time to enjoy the evenings in each other’s company. Romantic dinners, nice moments on the porch really work magic. Keep your mind open and you’ll get lots of ideas for a kid friendly vacation!

by Wayne Torres

The adventures of snowmobiling can also be mixed in with the fun and independence of a camping trip.

Sleeping in the outdoors can be extremely discomforting for some considering you risk the chances of frostbite or hypothermia out there.

If you think the cold temperatures when you go snowmobiling during the day is uncomfortable, you better believe that the night hours are worse without the warm sun beaming down on you.

As tough as winter camping may seem, it can still be a very fun and adventurous time as long as you make sure to take some precautions.

Camping in the winter wilderness can be an exciting and adrenaline-producing experience. Planning is the most important aspect of enjoying a winter camping adventure, though.

Doing research about the areas you plan to visit and the winter seasonal conditions in those regions should be foremost in your planning so you can bring the appropriate equipment to stay safe.

You may want to gather information such as the average amount of snow you should expect as well as how the routes that you may or may not want to take look like. Knowing the experience of the other campers in your group should be a must as well.

For example, having children with no experience in your group will need a lot different planning than a group with fully experienced adults.

Keep in mind that camping during the winter months will take a toll on your body and cause it to lose body heat in abundance. This is why good planning from the very beginning is essential.

Thermal clothes are an essential during any winter activity like snowmobiling and they are even more vital if you are going to sleep outdoors overnight.

You may also want to use the layering method which is exactly as it sounds. Wear several layers of clothing to better insulate your body.

Layering also makes it easier to remove clothing if the body begins to overheat. A body that is sweating will likely dehydrate and lose heat much quicker than a body that is dry.

Finally, no overnight camping trip would be complete without an ample amount of food for everybody in the group. A popular treat among campers is smores, but campers should also include foods that provide a better degree of nourishment.

Since appetites lessen during cold weather, the food you take with you should be appealing so you are sure to get enough nutrition to keep you moving throughout the day.

Oatmeal, granola, cheese, and other dry foods which are rich in vitamins and minerals is a must for winter camper.

A snowmobile and camping trip can be a fun and exciting excursion for adults to enjoy as groups or as couples. With some careful planning and packing, it can be an enjoyable and enlightening experience that can be enjoyed as often as possible.

Whether you take air flights for business, or holidays and vacations, you have probably lost luggage or know of a person that has. Here are some travel tips that may help you prevent this happening.

It is estimated that more than a million bags are lost by commercial airlines each year in the United States alone. How much luggage that get lost in the whole world is anybody’s guess. Here are some tips that may help you recover your bags if they are ever lost.

You should attach two or three tags with your name, home address, and phone number to the handle and zipper-pulls of each bag that you are checking. There is less of a chance that all of your tags will get torn off in transit. Make sure that you have removed any old airline tracking tags that are still attached to your luggage as they could confuse the baggage handlers.

Also, you should place the same contact information, including a copy of your itinerary and destination address inside each your bags. Then, if they do go astray and are found in time, it’s possible that they could be forwarded to your hotel.

Pick luggage with a bright or odd color that will stand out among the numerous black and brown bags. Know the brand name of the luggage that you have and attach a colorful ribbon or scarf to the handle to make identification easier. Stick some decals or a contrasting colored tape to every side of the bags so they are easier to spot as the carousel goes around. Try to remember these details, or better still, take a photo of your luggage just before you go and bring it with you. This can help the lost luggage staff at the airport in locating your bags if they are lost in transit and show up at their office. It will also help when you have to make a claim.

It can help if you make a list of what you have in your luggage and carry that list in you carry-on bag. The chance of your checked luggage getting lost in transit increases when you have delayed, or connecting flights. Pack your valuables, including your laptop or Blackberry, travel documents, prescriptions, etc., in your carry-on luggage. It’s best to pack only the things you can afford to lose in your checked baggage. Analysts believe the airline industry’s problem of lost luggage is not going to go away anytime soon.

What should you do if the airlines lose your luggage?

Go immediately to the baggage claim office and file your claim. Many airlines have a twenty-four hour window of time starting from when your flight arrives to file a claim and be eligible for compensation. Get a claim receipt and check the tracking of your luggage with the airline by phone, or on the airline’s website. Make sure you keep all your flight documents until the lost luggage problem has been resolved.

How can you guarantee that the airlines will not lose your luggage?

There are some companies like FedEx, UPS or DHL, that can send your luggage in the U.S. directly to your hotel or street address for a very reasonable cost. If you’re staying at a hotel, your luggage will be taken to your room by a bellboy. When you consider that in the United States alone, over a million bags are lost by the airlines each year, this service is well worth considering. If you are planning to travel by air throughout Europe, FirstLuggage.com, provides a similar service.
