Cancun is a very popular vacation desination for all ages. Most would define traveling off-peak as “traveling outside rush-hours to avoid overcrowding in public means of transport.” This sounds all too simple and as we might expect – easier said than done. If you love to be around other tourist than I recommend any time of the year to visit Mexico.

By traveling off-peak, not only will you get cheaper flights and accommodations. You will also gain a difference perspective on travel – especially the added advantage of enjoying your dream destinations without huddling with the masses of tourists during holidays.

And did you know that traveling off-peak means traveling during holidays (not before or after) when airfares are lower and there’s less road traffic?

Best Times To Travel

For both air and car travel, avoid the crowds by traveling during the week, especially from Tuesday through Thursday. An added bonus is that airfares for travel Tuesday through Thursday are usually cheaper.

Mid-morning and late afternoon flights tend to be less crowded, plus you can really avoid commute traffic during this time. This site also offers the load on late-night flights (also known as red-eye flights for obvious reasons): these flights can help you avoid traffic but it’s only effective if you can sleep sitting up-right on a plane!

Some of the most affordable Cancun travel deals of the year can be found in the fall. If you happen to find nonresistable super offer during off-peak dates that fall between major holidays, don’t waste time. Book immediately with your discount travel agent. Never hesitate!

Traveling off-peak to Cancun during the North American winter months rather than during summer is very popular. You might say what’s the point in going to Mexico in winter when you’re going there to savor the beaches? But the fact is, there is hardly such a thing as winter in the Mexico as it stays warm most of the year. In fact, it’s not a good idea to fly there during the peak season (I.e., summer months) as this is the period when the hurricanes usually come.

It also helps to subscribe to online newsletters of discount air travel agents such as Travelocity or Expedia. By having yourself included in these companies’ mailing list, you can get your hands on off-peak travel promotions faster than those who didn’t. So you see, it’s not just the air miles!

Finally, book your flight early to secure the most gains from traveling off-peak. One year’s planning can certainly help you reap the reward of the cheapest airfares possible! On the other hand, booking last minute can also have its rewards. If you’re the kind who can leave at a moment’s notice, you can save a lot from last-minute flights and accommodations. After all, most airlines and hotels would rather greatly discount their seats and rooms than leave them empty!

All the beaches in Mexico are considered as public, everybody can freely walk along the beach strips of the Mexican territory. However most of the hotels located on the beach would not allow you to use their facilities if you are not guest of them or unless you do some comsumption at their restaurants or bars.

In Cancun there are several public beaches and beach clubs where tourists staying at downtown hotels or local people can go to take a sunbath, swim and relax.

Playa las Perlas is the first beach on the drive heading east from El Centro along Boulevard Kukulcán. It’s a relatively small beach on the protected waters of the Bahía de Mujeres, and is popular with locals. Most of the water-sports activities are available only to those staying at the nearby resorts such as Club las Perlas or the Blue Bay Getaway.

Playa Las Perlas is the center of the timeshare resale zone, built around Playa Las Perlas’ blindingly white sand and warm turquoise water. This beach has some of the best swimming in the region, and is far safer than many other beaches with stronger currents and rip tides. You will definitely want to escape the relentless beat of the resort town by strolling down this pristine stretch of sand, with its perfect view of the sparkling Caribbean. Don’t worry, though–all of the necessary amenities are just a few feet away.

On beaches that faces the open Caribbean water, be cautious of quickly changing water conditions. This change can bring strong undertows creating unsafe water conditions. Become familiar with Cancun’s water-safety flag system.

Flag color
White – excellent
Green – safe
Yellow – use caution
Black or Red – unsafe

Planning a Caribbean vacation starts with choosing a destination, but not every island is the same.

Some have great beaches while others have beaches that aren’t so great. Some have famous attractions, but other islands are small enough that vacationers go there mainly to spend time on the beach.

People who have never been to the Caribbean before often aren’t sure which destination to choose, or they choose one that isn’t appropriate for a first trip. They might also not be sure if it is best to take a cruise or pick a place to stay for a week or more.

A starting point is knowing that the Caribbean region can be divided into east, south and west. One reason for the division is that cruise lines often offer eastern, southern and western cruises.

Eastern Caribbean. The eastern area extends as far north as the Bahamas, and for some people, as far north as Bermuda, which actually lies off the east coast of North Carolina. Other destinations in this part of the region include Turks & Caicos, the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and possibly as far south as St. Maarten.

The Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are popular stops for many cruise lines. Dominican Republic is one of the most popular destinations because of beautiful beaches and all-inclusive resorts. British Virgin Islands are mainly visited for quiet, longer-term stays.

Eastern destinations tend to have cooler winter weather with average daytime high temperatures in the low 80s and water that will be cool or uncomfortable for swimming. It is best visited in the spring and summer.

Southern Caribbean.Think of the southern area as an extension of the eastern area. Beyond St. Maarten lie St. Kitts, Antigua, Dominica, Martinique, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada and Trinidad. More to the west of this group, just off the coast of Venezuela, are Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao, otherwise known as the ABC islands.

These smaller islands are popular with both southern Caribbean cruises and with long-term vacationers. They are ideal locations for quiet stays compared to much busier places such as Puerto Rico or Cancun. More popular ones include Aruba, Barbados, St. Lucia and St. Maarten. Lesser developed locations, which also are harder to reach by air, include Dominica, St. Vincent and Grenada.

The southern destinations are more popular in winter months because they are closer to the equator and have slightly warmer temperatures than the northern locations. In addition, the ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao lie outside of the Caribbean hurricane belt. The annual hurricane season officially runs from June 1 to November 30 with peak activity in September and October. The ABC islands are more popular to visit in the fall than the rest of the Caribbean because they have some protection from tropical storms and hurricanes, but they still do feel the effects from bad weather in the region.

Western Caribbean. Destinations include Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Cancun, Cozumel and various Central American nations such as Belize, Panama, Honduras (especially Roatan) and Costa Rica.

Cancun is one of the top five destinations in the Caribbean because of its numerous hotels, restaurants and attractions. Cozumel and Cayman Islands are major cruise stops. Jamaica is well-known for its tropical beauty, interesting people, great beaches and all-inclusive resorts. The Central American nations are growing their tourism popularity in part due to an emphasis on eco-tourism and other outdoor activities.

Like the eastern and southern Caribbean, the western is popular in the spring and summer and unpopular in the early fall because of heavy rains from the hurricane season.

If you are planning a vacation trip to Cancun, hop the ferry across the bay to the small finger-shaped Isla Mujeres. The name means “Island of Women” and there are a number of theories as to how the name came to be but it’s not because of the topless beach. The important thing is that it’s a great place to vacation in the sun.

On Isla Mujeres the atmosphere is much more relaxed and relatively quiet compared to Cancun or Cozumel. The number of tourists is much less than on the mainland.

The city is only about 10 blocks long and five blocks wide so don’t expect a whole lot besides the supermarket and cinema. But the natural sights are what you came for anyway.

There are accommodations to fit all budgets. Most are downtown and near the oceanfront. One of the better hotels is Posada del Mar with air-conditioned rooms overlooking the waterfront. The Cristalmar Resort and Beach Club is south of town has a great beach, pool and modern facilities. There are a number of budget hotels but be careful because the conditions and service vary greatly from day to day.

The outlying reefs are great for diving and snorkeling. The windward side is best but only when the seas are calm. The coral rocks are quite dangerous when the water is rough. Local dive shops provide day trips out to the farther reefs for snorkeling and diving.

Charter a local boat for a deep-sea fishing trip. Grouper, barracuda, tuna and red snapper are in abundance year round while in the spring you can catch the bigger fish like dorado, marlin and sailfish.

Every year the Club de Yates of Isla Mujeres puts on a sailing regatta near the end of April. Also, the Regatta Amigos takes place several times throughout the year. These events turn into one big party for the whole island with costumes, dancing, music, food and tequila.

At Playa Norte Beach (the previously referred to topless beach) is on the north edge of town. The water is shallow, blue and calm with cafes close by. Sailboarding and water skiing are popular as is the local three-wheeled floating “bike”. Not far away is another beautiful and quiet beach, Playa Lancheros.

On the south end of the small island is a reconstructed ancient Mayan temple. It sits on a cliff with a wonderful view over the ocean. This makes a good excuse to take a walk and see the island.

Garrafon Beach is the one spot that seems to draw the most tourists. Probably because it’s such a good spot for snorkeling. Avoid the crowds by going early. The beach has a coral reef that is perfect for beginner snorkeling and children. You can have fun actually feeding the fish. Not too far out you can get a look at some sunken cannon, an anchor and the resident angelfish.

If you go in October, don’t miss the Isla Mujeres International Music Festival. It starts on the second weekend of the month and goes for 12 days of music and dancing.

For people who love to travel a lot, going to places that they have not been before will seem like a dream come true for most of them. This is because they get to places where everything will look new, the adventures are definitely fresh and the surrounding all too vague and strange that makes the travel more exciting.

However, not all places are created equal. This goes to show that not all rules and regulations are applicable to every place or location. That is why it is extremely important to know some information about the place itself and identify the governing laws.

For example take Cancun. It is, indeed, a great and enjoyable country to visit. Yet, visiting Cancun can do more harm than good if things are not done properly or when people bring with them unnecessary things.

So, for those who want some travel tips in the event that they plan to visit Cancun, here’s a list that will help them through.

1. Do some homework.

For people who are first timers in Cancun, it is best that they do their homework first. That is, research more about the country, its government, some special laws that needs to be kept in mind while there, or the kind of people present so as to have an idea about how to deal with them good-naturedly.

2. Valid passports.

It is best to travel, especially going to Cancun, with valid travel documents and passports. This is to avoid inconvenience and further problems. This is because there are countries that might not give some leeway on the travelers that is why it is important to get ready with authentic ones in case some questions arise.

3. Pets rule.

There are instances wherein people who have pets just don’t have anyone who will take care of their pets while they are away. That is why they opt to bring their pets while on travel.

However, it is more easily said than done because carrying pets along is more tedious that what travelers tend to believe.

First, the pet owner must first secure “custom certificates” that indicates the origin of the pet and certifies that the pet is in good condition and can easily conform to the norms and standards set by the country like Cancun. It should also indicate the kind and nature of vaccines taken by the pet, if any.

The bottom line: It’s still best to be prepared whenever somebody wants to travel to places like Cancun. This simply means that the more prepared a traveler is, the lesser he or she will encounter some problems.

Those who have been to Cancun have experienced the enthralling beauty of what is known as the Mexican Caribbean and the ever-changing colors of its waters. They have embraced the tropical temperatures and the hospitality of its residents. But they may not have taken advantage of Cancun catamaran charters or many of the other water adventures that this part of Mexico has to offer.

More than Beaches

Although many vacationers spend their days going to and from the city’s gorgeous beaches, Cancun offers visitors so much more. Here are just some of the opportunities that await those who want to do more than dip their toes in the water:

Catamarans: Catamarans offer a combination of relaxation and adventure. You can climb aboard a catamaran and go to the one of the most beautiful islands in Mexico, Isla Mujeres, or take advantage of the unparalleled snorkeling in gorgeous, calm waters. If you prefer, you can simply lie out in the sun and soak up the rays. Charters are available for groups consisting of anywhere from twenty to eighty passengers.

Sport Fishing: Chartering a fishing boat in Cancun is much more affordable than you might think, or you can join other single fishermen in an excursion to catch sailfish, marlin, mahi mahi, grouper, and many other varieties of fish. The best excursions and charters include fishing licenses and bait, are equipped with fish finders, GPS, high quality rods and reels, and fighting chairs.

Scuba Diving: The scuba diving in Cancun is magnificent, but there are few diving experiences to rival cave diving in the Cenote cave in Riviera Maya. Part of the Mayan underground water system, the caverns feature incredible stalagmite and stalactite formations and 300-feet visibility. You can also enjoy reef and wreck diving that will provide you with a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Jungle Tours: For visitors to Cancun, the Nichupte Lagoon is a must-see. The best way to see the jungle is to sign up with a tour that enables you to drive your own speedboat, gives you plenty of time for snorkeling, and provides you with a trained guide.

Events to Remember

Cancun Catamaran charters are great for corporate outings, Spring Break parties, or just for a day of sailing and fun. For more elegant occasions, or when regular boats simply won’t do, chartering a yacht is sheer perfection. With a capacity of at least forty passengers, a chartered yacht is perfect for weddings, receptions, family outings, or even a private romantic getaway.

The Price is Right

Whether you want to go on a fishing excursion or charter an exclusive yacht, the prices are quite affordable. For example, you can charter a 33-foot fishing boat for eight people for eight hours for only about $650. You can go on a cave dive for about $140 or a jungle tour for about $55. If you feel the need for speed, you can even go on an adrenaline-filled Shotover Jet tour through the mangroves for less than $50.

The next time you go to Cancun, do more than dip your toes in the water. Take advantage of Cancun catamaran charters or one of the many other opportunities that await, and dive right in!

If you’ve ever dreamed of living on the beachfront, but think your economic resources can cover that luxury, here’s good news for you; buying a Playa del Carmen or Cancun condo can actually make it possible for you to earn money and live in Mexico.

Making a real estate investment that will allow you to enjoy life on the beach at the same time would be an ideal combination for us. Consider this fact; a Playa del Carmen condo, only a short walk from the beach (5 small blocks) can be found for around $180,000 USD. A condo like this would include a pool, a lounge area, and walking access not only to Playa del Carmen’s best restaurants, bars and nightlife, but also to conveniences like Walmart. This properties would be prime for vacation rentals, presenting an affordable alternative for vacationers (compared to most hotels) while still bringing you a considerable income.

Because of the existence of high-rise buildings in Cancun (Playa del Carmen doesn’t allow for building higher than 4 storeys), condominiums in the hotel area can be found for even less than this, down closer to $100,000. Such a condo could also bring an excellent income.

If you don’t have the cash to put up for this purchase straight up, mortgages through Mexican banks are becoming more and more common, with usually 25-30% down. The rental income from vacations would vary from high to low season, but on average would more than cover the monthly payments.

Whether buying in cash, or through a mortgage, you would be able to enjoy your condo during the off season as your own vacation property, and, more importantly, at some point you would be ready to invest in a second unit. By the time retirement rolls around, or even sooner, depending on how much you can invest to begin with, you can enjoy a comfortable life on the beach, heavily supplementing your savings with income from rentals.

There are many other ways to invest and earn money in Mexico. In any case, funds go considerably further in Mexico than in the U.S. or Canada, and you will be able to live more comfortably on less. Living in Mexico on the beach is possible, and investing in condos may be the key to the relaxing retirement you deserve, perhaps even before the age you thought.

Why should you choose a Mexico retirement in Cancun? Consider this; for American travelers, Cancun has become a well-established favorite for vacations abroad, outdoing some of the stiffest of competition, like Paris or the nearby cities of Toronto or Vancouver in Canada.

But this is not just a victory in numbers; these numbers are a reflection of the high quality of services and lifestyle, available for a much lower price than the competing options. If you are planning to retire in Mexico, you can buy Cancun real estate, and enjoy life on one of the world’s most beautiful beaches for very accessible prices.

A Cancun condo, for example, can be found directly on the beachfront, with the soft white sand and the turquoise Caribbean sea literally steps away from your front door, for as little as $80,000 USD. If it’s high-end luxury you’re looking for, beachfront penthouses, and luxury homes on or very near the beach can be found for a lot less than what you would pay in other parts of the world (including the U.S. itself).

Condo buildings include elevators and many include full reception services, pools, gyms, rooftop patios, concierges, restaurants and even complete condo-hotel service (a condo that is set up with all hotel services for the benefit of residents.) If you are using your condo only in the winter, this also makes it easy to rent out the unit during the summer if you choose to enjoy some income from your retirement property.

Living in Cancun also means that you’ll be near just about every service at its best, not only in Mexico, but beyond. Shopping is an easy pleasure at modern malls, that include English movie theaters, restaurants and bars for a large variety of tastes can be found, and health care facilities that are equal to private hospitals in the U.S. (and offer more personalized service) are available at a fraction of the price, which also accept U.S. insurance.

It’s not just tourists that are flocking to Cancun; the expat community in the surrounding area is estimated anywhere up to 10,000, plus the others who are not retired. You will enjoy getting to know many neighbors from back home, and excellent opportunities for group outings. There are many Mayan ruins nearby, colonial cities, large, natural parks to tour, scuba diving, golf, sailing, and much more.

Can you see why Cancun is a favorite for retirees, vacationers and many others from the U.S.? Come and experience it for yourself.

Okay, so you have been working and struggling for a long time, and you feel as though you haven’t had a break in ages? Well, YOU NEED A VACATION! I am here to tell you that you should take a trip, get away from it all, relax and recharge your batteries!

I am a husband, father, and have two jobs, and too much stress in my life! I had been working in the food industry for most of my life, and I was no stranger to hard work, long hours, physically exhausting schedules, and so forth! Many of you know what I am talking about!

I was almost about to crack under the pressure, and then my dear wife said, “Let’s get away to Cancun! Please?” I thought about it and said “Yes!” We both needed a break from the pressures of life, work, kids, homework, stress, book reports, calls from the restaurant when I was trying to enjoy a day off, and the list goes on!

I said, “Honey, can we afford a trip?” She told me that maybe we couldn’t but if we didn’t just take a trip now, we may never get around to it, so we pulled out the credit card (they are for emergencies, right?) and we decided that this was an emergency! We needed to get away!

As we played on the most beautiful beach with the ideal temperature, and the crystal blue waters, and the gorgeous sky, I thought to myself, “Everyone deserves a wonderful trip like this, once in a while. It’s too bad that it costs more than some people can afford!” That night while we danced and had dinner and drank these awesome drinks that came in a hollowed out pineapple with a straw coming out of it, I said, “I am going to find a way to start selling discounted travel arrangements to ordinary people!”

We had a most wonderful week in Cancun, and it was sometimes breath-taking! After all, they say that “Life is not measured by the number of breaths that you take, but by the moments that take your breath away!”

When we came back to the States, I immediately began making the preparations and arrangements and now I am happy to present to you this awesome website! Even if you are only ready to start planning a trip in the future, come have a look! It is located at www.supervacationsdirect.com where we have what YOU NEED!

A fabulous vacation awaits you! So, please hurry and start planning that trip, and please tell a friend about this our awesome website…it’s Good Karma!

Who knows? You may even want to take a Cruise! “Bon Voyage!”
